Dave has over thirty years in leadership positions, working with the senior management of clients to transform existing business models into more highly effective, competitive organizations in order to deliver consistent, superior financial results.
He has extensive experience in multi industry management consulting and working with companies with revenues of $10 of millions through $10’s of billions. Dave creates comprehensive analysis of complex business issues and uses his executive management background to assimilate realistic solutions that can be implemented and financed.
After spending five years as an officer in the U. S. Air Force, Dave enjoyed a career with IBM. During his career with IBM he became an executive in the Sales and Marketing Division where he excelled in sales, taught business strategy and financial analysis, worked in sales management, and held various positions in marketing programs development.
Dave was one of the pioneers in launching IBM consulting services, which grew into a $40 billion business with nearly 140,000 consultants in the past fifteen years. As an executive, he specialized in working with senior management of small and medium businesses in nearly every industry segment. Dave was a key member of IBM’s US management team that grew mid-market consulting services revenue from $70 million to $600 million from 1996 to 2002, and was recognized as the “Top Mid-market Consulting Services Executive” in 2000.
Dave has executive consulting skills to listen to the concerns of senior management and then provide clients insightful dynamic and innovative decisions and strategies. He develops trusting relationships, envisions and communicates new opportunities, with the understanding of the business challenges to achieve desired objectives. He adds the value of objectively evaluating options, and shaping pragmatic strategies to turn decisions into measurable, bottom-line results.
Dave received his undergraduate degree from Saint Thomas College in 1969, and he attended CFO and CEO summer sessions at Babson College in 1986 and 1988. He received his consulting certification in Business Transformation / IT Strategy & Planning in 1993. Dave was a member of IBM’s worldwide Consulting Competency Certification Board from 1996 to 2002, before retiring at age fifty-five from IBM. He also co-authored the White Collar Shuffle, published by the American Management Association in 1988. This business book described proven methods for 'right sizing' organizational structures and improving productivity. In addition, Dave has authored two novels. His primary residence is near Atlanta, Georgia.
